Esteemed Members of Knesset,
We, representing the Turkish group established to fight unjust Armenian allegations (FEYM), received the news that Knesset decided to vote on May 30 as to whether 1915 events in Ottoman Anatolia constituted a genocide.
We are writing sadly and dissappointedly in regards to some members of Knesset trying to convince the rest of Knesset members to recognize the so-called Armenian genocide. Before your decision, we thought you should be informed of some realities to prevent any wrong and legally-void decision may cause irreparable hostilities between Turkey and Israel.
We strongly suspect that most of the Knesset members:
- Have no information on the Armenian Legion in the Nazi Army (22.000 men, 4.800 of them SS under command of General (butcher) Drastamat Kanayan, or the Nazi HAYASTAN), in their great service to Hitler in rounding up Jews and sending them to death camps.
- Have no knowledge of what they must know first and foremost. If they read Jewish Historian Prof. Dr. Stanford Shaw, they will learn that Turkish diplomats saved some 10.000 Jews from France and chartered trains to send them to Palestine via Istanbul. They should also learn why there was mass Jewish immigration from Spain to Ottoman territory in 1492.
- Are probably not even aware of the fact that the Armenian Legion in the Nazi Army caught Anne Frank, and that they played a major role in rounding up Jews. Please read at least Chapters 14/1 and 14/2 of article <http://armenians-1915.blogspot.com/2014/01/3432-free-e-book-genocide-of-truth.html> and familiarize yourselves with what is available on the Internet. If you disagree, write to the blog so other readers can see why you disagree.
As the crime of genocide, the United Nations have acknowledged only the World War II Jewish Holocaust, the 1992 Rwanda Genocide, and the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, as based on verdicts of authorized tribunals. To use the word “genocide” in conformity with the U.N. definition, the accused must be tried and convicted in a tribunal in the home country or at internationally authorized tribunal. That means there must be legal process and a legal verdict. Since 2004 the U.N. General Secretary has had a special rapporteur and office dealing with the crime of genocide. “Armenian genocide” has not been litigated in any court, and the U.N. has NOT recognized the Armenian allegations as “genocide.”
Additionally the European Court of Human Rights in its decision dated 15.10.2015 regarding the Perinçek-Switzerland case noted that the forced relocation of Armenians in 1915 cannot be considered genocide in light of international law. France’s Constitutional Council ruled similarly on January 8, 2016.
Jews in Germany did not revolt against the German government, none was spared from harm. This is the big difference with the Armenians in Ottoman Turkey, who had revolted against their government and colluded with the invading Russian Army and French Legion.
League of Nations Official Gazette of 21.9.1929 writes that 200.000 Armenians died in fights against their home country serving the enemies; League of Nations General Secretary Sir Drummond’s note dated 1.3.1920 confirms that “massacres were carried by bands which were totally outside the control of the Central Government.” The bandits made no exception as regards race or persons. If you read these old U.N. League of Nations documents, they will suffice to prove that there was no attempt to Armenian civilians by the Ottoman government (other than individual cases outside the control of the government). So far Armenians, the British, the Americans, or others, could not present even ONE document or Neutral eye witness to prove Armenian allegations. Grand-ma stories of babies at that time …only!
Armenians in the Ottoman Empire revolted some thirty times in history. The 1894-1896 was revolt against Kurds to whom they were paying ransom, with estimated casualties is of less than 3000. The 1909 Adana incident was again a Revolt by Priest Mosheg who was telling Armenians to sell their coats and buy arms. Mosheg escaped to Egypt, but nearly 4000 persons were killed from the Turkish and Armenian side.
The Armenian writer M. Varantyan in his work The History of the Dashnak Party explains the political programme of the Armenian committees as follows: “the aim of the organisation is to incite rebellion and as a consequence of this rebellion to gain independence or freedom as in Bulgaria and Lebanon.” The slogan of the committees was “Kill the Turks and Kurds wherever you find them. Kill reactionaries, those who aren’t true to their word, Armenian collaborators and attain your revenge.”
We suggest Knesset members watch at least and avoid this baseless historical debate, as a reminder of the Dunning Kruger syndrome.
Enver Pasha told Ambassador Morgenthau that he can take as many Armenians as he wishes to USA, but Washington turned down this bright idea. At least 250.000-300.000 Armenians immigrated to Russia when their army retreated. The US Congress joint resolution of 22.4.1922 gives this number as 500.000. Whom should we believe? Armenians or the US Congress?
Armenian historians do not want to open their archives and debate with their opponents. If they are interested in TRUTH, they should do so as civilized persons or scholars.
Bruce Fein, the legal advisor to former US President Ronald Reagan made thefollowing statement in support of the notion that the number of Turks who were murdered by Armenians during the WW-I far exceeds the figures of Armenians: “The White House conducted an investigation in 1981, which found Armenians murdered more than two millionTurks. ( Bruce Fein, “Lies, Damn Lies And Armenian Deaths”, Huffpost World, June 4, 2009).
The Knesset members should please read the 1948 U.N. Convention on Genocide and the requirement of a legal VERDICT enshrined in it!
We are putting forth that politicians cannot pass judgement on issues which are the remit of courts of law; therefore, we call on you to reject the baseless claims of the Armenians.
Respectfully,
