While I lived abroad before in Turkey and had done quite a bit of traveling beforehand, those 18 months in Germany definitely broadened my perspective of Germany, Europe, and even the US in so many different ways! I wanted to share my perceptions with you guys through YouTube so that maybe you can gain context to things you’ve heard about, or learn new information or a different perspective, or maybe this is everything you’ve heard before and further confirms your world view. Why Turkey is invading Syria

On Oct. 9, 2019, Turkey launched an attack in northeastern Syria. Turkey made the move shortly after the US announced it would remove some of its troops from the region.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄan had his eyes on the region for years. Turkey, he argued, needed a âsafe zoneâ to serve as a buffer against the Syrian War happening just across the border. Yet back home in Turkey, there were other factors at play that accelerated his calls for an invasion that involved ErdoÄanâs own political survival.
The move has recalibrated alliances in the Syrian War and added new uncertainty on the future of the region.

“Disco Queen”
Born to Be Alive is the first studio album by Patrick Hernandez, released internationally in 1978 and in the US in 1979. It features the eponymous disco hit “Born to Be Alive” as well as a less-successful single, “Disco Queen”.
Background
While a member of the French group Gold, Hernandez was signed by producer Jean Vanloo and left to Waterloo, Belgium to begin work on a solo album. In November, 1978, the album was released on the Aariana sub-label Aquarius Records (in France). The first single released from the album was “Born to Be Alive”. It found immediate success throughout Europe, and in January 1979, Hernandez received his first gold record from Italy.
In early 1979, the album reached the US market with a release on the A-Tom-Mik label and later Columbia Records. The US release contained a remixed version of “Born to Be Alive” and found great success, peaking in the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart at #1 and on the Billboard Hot 100 at #16. It sold over one million copies in the US.

The Turkish professor Arikan, the Father of Polar Codes
Huawei Founder, Ren Zhengfei, accompanied by top level management, hosted an award ceremony at the companyâs HQ in Shenzhen, China. Together, they recognized Prof Arikan, the Father of Polar Codes, for his years of contribution in communications technology. The accomplishments of Huaweiâs own scientists were also celebrated in this majestic ceremony. The Turkish professor and Huawei both emphasized on the importance of research, cooperation and the spirit of exploration to building a connected and intelligent future:
