Walter van Praag became world famous when he cycled from Paris to Istanbul in 2007, not just because he completed the gruelling cycle but because he did it despite having cystic fibrosis (CF).
His two-month journey was transformed into a book and a documentary and he was awarded the Order of Australia for his achievement which aimed to increase awareness of the debilitating disease.
Walter is back on his bike again and last week, pulled into the Tween Waters Caravan Park in Merimbula to enjoy a rest day during his latest challenge, cycling from Sydney to Melbourne.
