The 83-year-old broadcaster faces fresh charges of sexual offences, including a rape allegedly committed in 1976.
BBC presenter Stuart Hall has been charged with further sexual offences – including an alleged rape.
The 83-year-old veteran broadcaster was arrested on Tuesday after attending a Cheshire police station.
The Radio 5 Live football presenter was charged with 14 offences of sexual assault involving 10 girls aged between nine and 16 between 1967 and 1986.
He is also accused of raping a 22-year-old woman in 1976.
In December, Hall was charged with three counts of indecent assault against young girls in the 1970s and 80s. He denied these three charges at a court hearing earlier this month.
Following the latest charges he was bailed to appear before magistrates in Preston on February 7.
Hall, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, has worked for more than a half century in British broadcasting and was awarded an OBE in this year’s New Years Honours.
He presented the It’s A Knockout show in the 1970s.
The BBC has previously said he would not be working at the corporation while he is facing allegations.

MP Tom Watson sparked probe after his speech in Commons
Police investigating allegations of a child pedophile network have seized a list naming top politicians, members of the royal household and a world-renowned pop star, it was reported today.
They were allegedly visitors to a bed and breakfast guest house which operated as a brothel where youngsters were abused at gay sex parties.
The names were recorded on a handwritten note found by police at the North London home of child protection worker Mary Moss during a raid.
She had initially declined to co-operate with the investigation. Documents and a laptop were seized and Ms Moss later handed over other 19 files she had put in a neighbour’s shed.
The papers include a list of men who went to sex parties in the 80s at the Elm Guest House, in Barnes, south west London.
Among them were two former Conservative Cabinet ministers, four other senior Tories, a Labour MP, a prominent Irish republican and a leading National Front member, according to the Sunday People.
The note also allegedly names two members of the royal household – one a former Buckingham Palace employee – plus the owner of a multinational company and two pop stars.
One of those is a best-selling musician, but like some others on the list he is not suspected of being involved in any child abuse.
The list emerged at meetings in 1988 between child protection officials and the guest house’s manager Carole Kasir, who died aged 47, two years later from a suspected overdose.
The paper said that 16 boys from nearby Grafton Close council home were allegedly trafficked to the guest house and abused.
Now detectives are to check social services records from Richmond, Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Hounslow.
Officers will also be examining copies of cash receipts and the guest house’s visitor records.
Famous names linked to child sex rings include Liberal MP Cyril Smith in Rochdale and disgraced traitor Anthony Blunt, the former Keeper of the Queen’s Pictures.
A complaint by Labour MP Tom Watson during a speech in the House of Commons sparked Operation Fernbridge. He claimed a paedophile ring used high-level connections to escape justice.
Ms Moss told the People: ‘They [police] were friendly enough but I thought it was heavy handed and a complete violation of my privacy..
The Met confirmed their statement to the Mail Online. ‘The investigation will be led by the Child Abuse Investigation Command.
‘The allegations under Operation Fernbridge were initially assessed under Operation Fairbank, which was from information passed to police by Mr Tom Watson.’
Postal workers have intercepted a letter bomb addressed to a senior police officer in Northern Ireland.
The suspicious package, meant for Chief Inspector Andy Lemon, was discovered in a sorting office in Strabane, Co Tyrone.
Bomb disposal experts examined the package and said it was “a small viable device”, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.
The device was made up of a battery pack and accelerant and was packed into a brown envelope. It was taken away for further examination.
Six roads around the sorting office were closed for several hours this morning but all have since been reopened.
Chief Inspector Lemon said the vigilance of postal staff had saved lives.
“This was a very dangerous device and I would like to praise the Post Office staff for noticing it. One of them, or one of my officers, could have been injured had they opened it,” he said.
He added: “I do not believe this is a personal attack but more a general attack on the police.
“Because I am area commander, a lot of mail would come into the police station addressed to myself, but I do not open any of it. That is done by other members of staff.
“This was an attempt to kill or injure police.”
Chief Inspector Lemon said the PSNI was keeping an open mind about who was responsible but said dissident republicans were the most likely suspects.
Northern Ireland’s first minister Peter Robinson and his deputy Martin McGuinness condemned the attempted attack.
“There can be no justification for this calculated and callous behaviour,” they said in a joint statement.
“This was not just a planned attack on a police officer but also on the postal workers involved and society as a whole.”
They urged anyone with information to contact police.
Last month, an explosive device was found under the car of a police officer in east Belfast.
Wales needs a strong presence in emerging economies, First Minister Carwyn Jones said as he began a day of meetings in Turkey.

Mr Jones said he was pursuing potential deals that could benefit the Welsh economy.
It is the first in a series of overseas trips he has lined up in the first six months of 2013.
He warned if the Welsh government “sit back” it will lose opportunities for foreign trade to competitors.
Speaking from Istanbul, Mr Jones told BBC Radio Wales’ Good Morning Wales programme that he had meetings with representatives from banking, manufacturing, academia and government.

“It’s quite clear when you come to Turkey that you see an economy that’s growing, a very dynamic population as well,” he said.
“They are going to be a power-house in years to come. It’s important then that we have got strong business and commercial links with them.”
Although he could not disclose “commercially confidential” details, he said the Welsh government was pursuing two “very promising” leads.
He arrived on Wednesday and leaves on Friday morning as part of a “hectic schedule”.
“You spend all your time in meetings – that’s the way it should be – and in pursuing business contacts,” he said.
“So it’s always a pretty hectic schedule. We can’t afford to sit back because other people will be out here.”
Later this month Mr Jones will be in Dublin to address the inaugural conference of the British-Irish Chamber of Commerce.
Next month the Welsh government will take a trade mission to San Francisco and the first minister will be in New York in March and in June he will visit Japan.
‘Sell Wales’
As first minister he has already made official visits to China, the US and India.
“You have to go out and sell Wales. No-one else is going to do it,” he said.
While he acknowledged that exports to China and the EU had deteriorated recently, exports to the US and India were improving.
The most trade recent figures published by HM Revenue and Customs show the value of Welsh exports in the third quarter of 2012 was £3.1bn – down from £3.3bn at the same time in 2011.
After meeting bosses from the steel giant Tata in India last April, Mr Jones hailed a pledge by the company to invest £800m in Wales over five years.
However, in November Tata said it would be shedding almost 600 jobs at plants in south Wales.
Mr Jones said: “What you have to do is go to countries and make sure Wales is on their agenda. There’s no point going somewhere then disappearing for years – people will forget about you.
“One of the messages we have learned is that if you want people to take an interest in Wales you have to make sure that you have a strong presence in those countries that are going to be important in years to come.
“They are countries like India, like China, like the USA and of course now like Turkey.”
In total, the Welsh government is planning 16 overseas trade missions this year, although it has not been confirmed that a cabinet minister will attend all of them.
The Conservatives called on the first minister to make sure the trips deliver for Wales.
Welsh Tory assembly leader Andrew RT Davies said: “The first minister must demonstrate that his globe-trotting serves a purpose and amounts to more than hunting winter sun.”
