    “Kyrgyzstan is located in the very heart of Central Asia, which makes it possible to influence Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and even China. To have this region under control is the main aim of the U.S. State Department’s current policy,” independent experts of the Russian media observer Russian Peacekeeper said.

    Today Condoleezza Rice is the main idea generator in issues of the “Central Asian states’ domestication”. Here she has overbid even her teacher Zbigniew Brzezinski. Kyrgyzstan, in her eyes, is a key to settling all tensions in Central Asian region. If Kyrgyzstan is a ‘key’, it should be ‘kept in a pocket’. It is a long-studied method.

    “It is enough to remember that before the ‘tulip revolution’ in Kyrgyzstan, staff of the U.S. embassy in Bishkek counted at least 30-40 persons. This number grew dramatically right before the revolution, and now counts up to 150 workers. It is strange why the United States has such a large-numbered diplomatic mission in a country, which is way far from the world leading states,” the experts wonder.

    Turkish speaking news agencies gather in Cyprus

    Heads of Turkish speaking news agencies gathered on Friday in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at a consultative meeting in a bid to strengthen cooperation between news agencies of Turkic countries.

    Addressing the meeting of the Association of Turkish Speaking News Agencies (TKA), Hilmi Bengi, director general of the Anadolu Agency, said the association would continue to work with “a new momentum after its latest enlargement.”

    Anadolu Agency from Turkey, Turkish News Agency-Cyprus from Northern Cyprus, AzerTac from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz News Agency, and the Crimean News Agency participated at the consultative meeting and they issued a final declaration, vowing to increase cooperation.

    ISTANBUL, Aug 22 (Reuters) – Turk Telekom TTKOM.IS said on Friday it will bid in a tender to buy a 78 percent stake in Kyrgyzstan monopoly Kyrgyztelecom following its completion of technical studies on the tender on Thursday.

    The Government of the United States of America is pleased to announce the open competition for the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) for the 2009 spring semester. The JFDP is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State (ECA). American Councils for International Education:

    ACTR/ACCELS, an American non-profit, non-governmental organization, receives a grant from ECA to administer the JFDP, and oversee each participant’s successful completion of the program. The United States Congress annually appropriates funds to finance the JFDP, and authorizes the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to oversee these funds.

    If you are a citizen of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Tajikistan, or Turkmenistan, and are teaching full-time in an institution of higher education in your home country, have at least two years of university-level teaching experience, and are highly proficient in English, American Councils invites you to learn more about the program and apply.

    Turkey and Kyrgyzstan Sign Agreement on Military Aid

    Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, 24 July / corr. Trend News R.Meshedihasanli / The governments of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey signed in Ankara an agreement on free military aid and the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry and the Turkish General Headquarters signed a protocol to grant financial aid to the Kyrgyz Armed Forces.

    Abilov, the Kyrgyz Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Turkey, and Major General Alpaslan Erdogan, the head of defense planning and resource management department of the Turkish General Headquarter, signed these documents.

    Within the framework of these international agreements, the Turkish Government issues grant in the amount of 1,312,425 the Turkish liras (more than $1mln) to the Kyrgyz Government, which will be directed to the assistance in development of bilateral relations between two countries,” The Kyrgyz Defense Ministry told Trend News.

    Union of Enlighteners of Turkic World Established

    Kazakhstan, Almaty, 11 July /corr. Trend News R.Mashadihasanli / Constituent conference of Union of Enlighteners of Turkic World took place in Almaty.
    The conference was attended by the representatives of Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. Academician Haji Kheyrulla was elected as the Chairman of the Union, and the professor of Gazi University of Turkey, Ismet Chetin, candidate of philological sciences, editor-in-chief of the newspapers TURKEL and Veten, Ramiz Mashadihasanli and professor Murat Tuzunkhan ( Turkish Republic of North Cyprus) were elected deputy chairman.

    The goal of establishing the Union of the Enlighteners of Turkic World is to combine world-known people, being engaged in history, literature, science and skill, to strengthen relations between the Turkic-speaking states.
