Nuclear Power Plant 2German utility RWE AG (RWE.XE) has decided it won’t manufacture any new nuclear plants abroad after Germany’s accelerated nuclear-energy exit, Munich daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung reports in a pre-release of an article in Monday’s edition.

The decision, which signals RWE will exit the international nuclear-energy business in the coming years, is also supported by the company’s municipal major shareholders, the people familiar with the matter told the newspaper.

Mr. Terium, who will become CEO at the beginning of July, plans to expand the company’s solar-energy business in Germany, the newspaper reports. RWE plans to build solar-power plants together with municipal utilities and also wants to enter the business with private customers, the newspaper writes.

  • US put pressure on Azerbaijan by «Armenian genocide»

US put pressure on Azerbaijan by «Armenian genocide»

    армяно турецкие протоколы

    Gulnara Inanch,

Director of Information and Analytical Center Etnoglobus (ethnoglobus.az),

editor of Russian section of  Turkishnews American-Turkish Resource website www.turkishnews.com  ,

    Mete62@inbox.ru

According to BBC, a group of former and present high ranking officials of the US Administration has called the presidential administration to put pressure over the sides for implementation of protocols signed betweenTurkeyandArmeniain 2009. FormerUSSecretary of State Madeleine Albright in her statement before the US Council on Foreign relations said that implementation of the mentioned protocols would serve for improvement of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

However, while speaking of the very issue in her visit toArmenia, US present Secretary of State Hillary Clinton insisted that initial unconditional dialog betweenTurkeyandArmeniawould not have any impact upon Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

Contradiction between the statements of the present Secretary of  State Hillary Clinton and Madeleine Albright, who, despite, is not in power but preserved her reputation, is the reflection of US view with regards to the issue.

As you see, White House tries to pull out “Armenian genocide” issue from connection with Azerbaijanby strengthening their attempts to make Turkeyrestore negotiations withArmenia. Because, in order to force Turkey to come to the negotiations without any precondition agreement of officialBakuis required.  Statement of  Hillary Clinton that Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict has no connection with Turkish-Armenian relations proves it.

Therefore,Washingtontries to persuade Turkey that opening of  borders between Turkey and Armenia will cause Armenia to compromise in Nagorno-Karabakh issue. On the other hand, as recognition of “Armenian genocide” is a principal issue for Azerbaijan along with Turkey, it is used as pressure object to Baku and Ankara.

The fact that “Armenian genocide” was the focus of attention again in Israel Knesset on June 12, it should be considered as pressure tool over Turkey and Azerbaijan. It is again proved by the report recently made by Madeline Albright together with former US president George Bush’s national security advisor Steven Hadley where this subject was the focus of attention as well. According to that report, establishment of good relations withIsrael by Turkey will lead to earning support of  US Jewish society which will support Turkey to avoid discussion of “Armenian genocide” as in previous years. Israel Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, who seeks for strategic cooperation policy with official Baku, said that this issue wouldn’t be discussed for the sake of strategic cooperation with Azerbaijanwhen “Armenian genocide” was focus of attention in Israel Knesset. Israel media that are close to state and power bodies has been asked to be attentive in the sensible issues related to Azerbaijan. Being attentive we can see that Israel media pretext not to see that “Armenian genocide” is brought to focus of attention in Israel Knesset.

Israel is Our Home (IOH) party head secretary Faina Kirschenbaum, Members of Knesset said that IOH – Kadima block would try to avoid discussions of “Armenian genocide” which is brought to focus of attention by the pressure of Israel Armenian church.

But the point is that some Israel politicians and public figures think that the “Armenian genocide” is the issue between Armenia and Turkey and it has nothing with Azerbaijan, especially with Nagorno-Karabakh. Therefore, in order to satisfy society and Jewish lobby, “Armenian genocide” is brought to focus of attention in the Israel Knesset.

Since “Armenian genocide” is the tool of political speculation, attempts by Israel officials to close the subject for the sake of cooperation with Azerbaijan will be temporary and it is expected to be used for the purpose of mollifying Turkey and Azerbaijan.

As we remember, along with speculations around adoption of the law prohibiting denial of “Armenian genocide” in French Senate, “genocide” issue was also brought to the focus of attention in Israel Knesset.

The fact that discussion of “genocide” issue in Knesset is due on June 18, on the eve of meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenian Foreign Ministers in France, is the another proof that this is the pressure method on Azerbaijan during negotiations.

Erdogan to Obama: Israel risks losing its best friend in Middle East

    By Haaretz Service | Jun.13,2012 | 1:40 PM

Turkey is planning to spend 4 billion dollars on a new long-range air defense missile system, in response to increasing regional tensions, the pro-government daily Zaman reported Wednesday.

According to the report, four systems are under consideration: The US PAC-3 Patriot missile system, Russia’s S400, China’s FD2000 and the SAMP-T missile produced by the French Italian consortium Eurosam.

A decision on which system Turkey will buy is due to be made at a meeting of the Defence Industry Committee chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which is scheduled for July 4.

According to Zaman, the decision to buy a long-range missile system was taken because of the increased deployment of similar long-range systems throughout the region.

In September, Turkey declared it will suspend all defense industry ties with Israel, after the the diplomatic relations between the two countries were downgraded.

The decision was seen as part of a series of penalizing measures against Israel over the latter’s refusal to apologize for killing nine Turkish nationals on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in 2010.

  • Euro 2012: UEFA bosses accused of racism after ‘turning blind eye’ to abuse of black footballers

Euro 2012: UEFA bosses accused of racism after ‘turning blind eye’ to abuse of black footballers

euro 2012Football chiefs were today accused of “turning a blind eye” to racism after Dutch players were targeted with abuse.

Uefa finally admitted today there had been a racist incident after Dutch black players were subjected to monkey chants during a training session in Poland two days ago in the build-up to the opening games of the Euro 2012 tournament.

The racism row and violence against English-speaking fans threatened to overshadow the tournament even before it began this afternoon with the Poland against Greece game. The football authorities vowed to take action if there was a repeat of the abuse. But MPs and campaigners condemned them for not being tougher following the Dutch case which was initially played down.

Labour MP Diane Abbott said: “They are turning a blind eye. The danger is that by not acting, they leave the door open for further racial abuse of black and Asian players and fans.”

Piara Powar, the executive director of Football Against Racism in Europe, said: “We’re very clear with Uefa that any incident of this kind needs to be looked at.”

Conservative MP Mark Field, vice-chairman of the all-party parliamentary football group, added: “I fear Uefa are trying to brush this under the carpet.”

In a statement today, Uefa accepted that there had been racist chants at Wisla’s Krakow ground as reported by the Dutch captain Mark van Bommel.

“Uefa has now been made aware that there were some isolated incidents of racist chanting,” it said.

As the England team gathered for a training session in Krakow, former captain Rio Ferdinand — whose brother Anton was allegedly racially abused during a match by England’s John Terry — tweeted: “Tell me I didn’t see this … the Dutch team getting abuse already? Hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.”

Dutch football great Ruud Gullit added: “It’s sad. We don’t need this.”

Sports minister Hugh Robertson warned that discrimination must not be tolerated as fears grew that the tournament will be marred by racism or anti-Semitism.

He said: “Racism of any form is unacceptable on the football pitch or elsewhere. If it occurs I would expect the authorities to stamp down on it in the strongest possible terms.”

The Dutch FA has decided not to make an official complaint. But van Bommel, with the backing of the Dutch squad, insists players were targeted.

England have several black players including Ashley Young, Ashley Cole, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The families of Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain have declined to travel to watch the matches because of fears over racism, and former player Sol Campbell advised fans to avoid the tournament because of race fears.

As the racism row grew, there were reports that local thugs attacked English-speaking fans last night — just hours before the start of the event being co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

About 50 hooligans punched and kicked foreign football supporters speaking English and Russian as they drank in a pub in the central Polish city of Lodz.

Witnesses said young masked men wearing the club colours of local team LKS Lodz pulled up in cars next to a pub and attacked anyone in sight, throwing punches and kicks.

“When they started to hit out, we fled inside,” one victim said. “We barricaded the entrance. Some of us remained outside, and they got the brunt of the attack.”

Two men were injured and a Polish witness said: “They forced two younger men to the ground, with multiple attackers starting to punch and kick them. It was a horrible sight. I fumbled for my phone and called the police. They were lying motionless on the pavement. I thought they were dead.

“After a couple of minutes, one of them started to get up, and then the second. I was very relieved.”

British ministers are boycotting England’s group stage matches in protest at “selective justice” in Ukraine and because of the workload for the Olympics. The Government is concerned about the treatment of jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

Ukraine’s ambassador to London, Vladimir Khandogiy, today criticised the British decision. “This reason for not attending is something that I don’t understand since I believe that sport and politics don’t mix,” he said.

Whitehall insiders stressed the Government was making a political statement through the boycott, backed by other EU nations.

A 22-year-old football fan in Krakow is in hospital after being attacked by hooligans wielding machetes in what was apparently a fight between fans of local clubs. Police spokesman Renata Kostecka said: “He suffered light cuts and a major wound to his thigh. He is still in hospital.”

    Three men were arrested.
