Statement of the All-Tatar Public Center About political hunger strike

The All-Tatar Public Center (VTOTs) announces the beginning of a political hunger strike on February 3, 2021, against the claim of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tatarstan to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan on recognizing the VTOTs as an extremist organization and on the liquidation of the organization, against the trial of the VTOTs. The trial will take place on February 24.

We believe that the trial of the oldest (founded in 1989) Tatar national organization, the All-Tatar Public Center (VTOTs), is an act of demonstrative disrespect for the Tatar people. VTOTs is the only Tatar public organization consistently defending the rights of the Tatar people. Since 1989, the VTOTs has been tirelessly fighting for the statehood of the Republic of Tatarstan, for the implementation of the state status of the Tatar language, for the strengthening of federalism in Russia, for the constitutional rights of all peoples of Russia. The VTOTs role is great in the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Tatarstan on August 30, 1990, in holding a referendum on the state status of Tatarstan on March 21, 1992, and in the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan on November 6, 1992. It should be noted that the organization has always acted within the framework of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Constitution of the Russian Federation. VTOTs want to be recognized as an extremist organization on absolutely trumped-up charges. For example, they find extremism in the address of the VTOTs of 2017 “SAVE THE TATAR LANGUAGE!” or in the Articles of VTOTs, which was adopted in 2004.

Recognition of the VTOTs as an extremist organization is tantamount to recognizing the Tatar people as an extremist, recognizing the extremist idea of statehood of the Republic of Tatarstan and the provisions on federalism of the Constitution of the Russian Federation (Article 5: “The federal structure of the Russian Federation is based on equality and self-determination of peoples in the Russian Federation.”), This is also a violation of the constitutional rights of citizens to public associations and freedom of thought and speech

Kharkiv Mayor’s death at Charité raises questions among political experts

On December 17 Kharkiv City Mayor Hennadiy Kernes died at the Charité clinic in Berlin where he was receiving treatment for Covid-19.  Despite the official clinic’s report, some political experts say his death was quite mysterious while at the same time questioning Kernes legitimacy as a mayor.

Earlier in September, Kernes was transferred to Germany over a deteriorating health condition. He was placed in the intensive care unit of Berlin’s Charité clinical center. While he was under treatment, Kharkiv City Council had to repeatedly deny rumors of his death. On November 4, Kernes was officially declared Mayor of Kharkiv with getting 195,044 votes (60,3 %). German economist Andres Aslund questioned in his tweet if Kernes was still alive when he was reelected.

Besides, the place of Kernes’s death also leaves questions with no answer.

“Charité” (French) means “charity” or “mercy”. The clinic is known far beyond Germany. The hospital, founded in 1710 as a plague infirmary, is currently a multidisciplinary medical center, where patients with a wide variety of diseases are treated. The hospital complex has about 3000 beds in total. It employs 13,000 employees and treats over 800,000 outpatients and inpatients annually.

Apart from ordinary citizens, the Charité Hospital is a primary choice for many celebrities from all over the world. It’s no secret that many rich and famous patients, for example, from Russia or Saudi Arabia, privately receive medical care here. Among the Charité’s patients were Merkel, Steinmeier, Tymoshenko and other. It is especially popular among former USSR leaders who chose the pro-Western course. Recently, the Hospital’s name has been in headlines because of the Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny who received treatment there over supposedly poisoning (according to the Charité’s clinic report). But while Kernes, according to Kharkiv City Council reports, was getting better and even won elections, Charité, despte its claims on best medicine technologies, was helpless to Kernes. On the contrary, Navalny who reportedly spent quite a long time in coma was healed amazingly quickly.

Some experts believe that’s no coincidence. Known for its affiliations with politicians, the Charité doctors could have been careless for Kernes as the West might have written his off, while Navalny still poses the interest for pro-Western powers. But that’s already conspiracy theories.

    ——————–

Dr. Valerija Korošec, is an independent researcher of the U3BI paradigm shift, its conditions and possibilities.

On theoretical level, she integrates U3BI approach (the unconditional uniform universal basic individual) system with the ‘Trade’ and ‘Democratic’ system as a way of ‘upgrading’ the concept of social market system. In this conceptual framework any human social institution obeys the rule to firstly apply the basic level of redistribution of common goods in ‘U3BI manner’: guaranteeing common goods in unconditional, uniform and universal form on at least the basic level (U3BI). Secondly, to obey the rule of fair evaluation and reward of work-time contribution and thirdly, to allow free competition in a was that it does not impede the first two layers. In domain of democratic politics and social policy and free market system she has built some political pragmatic proposals in upon this ‘new’ conceptual approach.

In the last five years she also ‘diversified’ the idea of Universal Basic Income into the idea of UB – items, income, services, UB job guarantee and shorter working week as examples of a U3Bparadigm shift.

In 2010 she published an algorithm for a budget neutral introduction of basic income in Slovenia. She is still regularly invited to present her proposal in Slovenia: THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA (2011), The Committee on Labor, Family, Social Affairs and the Disabled of THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, to Trade Unions Confederations etc.

In 2015 she presented this three-dimensional system at the conference “Slovenia 2030” – Change for an efficient social state, organised by Borut Pahor, President of the RS (“Slovenia 2030” – Change for efficient social state organized by the president of RS, Borut Pahor in 2015).

In february 2019 she presented the MEFISTO, EUROMOD microsimulation of this approach in the field of child benefits, at the Universal Child Grant conference in Geneva organised by UNICEF and ILO in 2019.  (PWP presentation is attached.)

In September 2019 she, as a key note speaker, presented the Universal-Trade- Democratic (#zaUTD; in engl.U3BI) concept in domain of energy poverty – The question of energy regulations – at the 16th International Conference on EEM (European Energy Market) in Ljubljana.

In April 2020 she was ‘the ghost’ writer for dr. Marko Jaklič, who was a member of Lahovnik’s group of councellors (all male) of PM Janez Janša at the outbreak of Covid-19 when she wrote New #zaUTD Social Deal for post-Covid19 Slovenia.

In September 2020 she wrote the (bellow attached) letter as a follow up of her question and suggestion to Mr Nicolas Schmidt in a videoconference ‘roadshow’, when he consulted with Slovenian social partners and stakeholders on the upcoming Action Plan to further implement the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Dr. Valerija KOROŠEC was three years (June 2017 – June 2020) official coordinator of the Slovenian Universal Basic Income Network (UTD Section) at the Society for the Development of the Humanities and is the representative of Slovenia in the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN) and the European Network for Fair Work Sharing Network. She was the (ghost) chief coordinator of signature collection for the European Civil Initiative on Universal Basic Income in 2013. In 2020 she again participated (as a ghost chief coordinator) in the European Civil Initiative on Universal Basic Income, where Slovenia is again – the best.

Valerija Korošec, Ph.D. in Post-modern sociology, M.Sc. in European Social Policy, works for the Slovenian Government analysing the EU social policy, data on poverty, gender equality, SDGs, Human Development Index, Social Progress index, Prosperity index etc. In 2010 she published an algorithm for a budget neutral introduction of universal basic income in Slovenia.

Dr. Valerija KOROŠEC was born in 1966. She is married mother of two and lives in Slovenia.
