A new teaser trailer for James Bond film Skyfall was broadcast on US television network NBC during their coverage of the Olympic opening ceremony.

While the UK and the rest of the world witnessed Bond hard at work escorting the Queen to her seat in the Olympic Stadium, US television audiences also got a sneak peak from the forthcoming movie. You can watch it below.

In the short, 30-second clip, Bond can be seen riding a motorcycle in Istanbul, having a steamy romp in a shower and jumping into a collapsing train. During the action-packed trailer, we also get a glimpse of Javier Bardem’s villainous character.

Skyfall sees a face from M’s past return and haunt her and the agents of MI6. As the trailer reaches its tense climax, with an underground train hurtling towards the spy, Bond utters just one line of dialogue: “007, reporting for duty”.

Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris co-star in Skyfall, which opens in the UK on October 26. The new movie’s release marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond series. Sean Connery kicked off the franchise in 1962, playing Ian Fleming’s British secret agent in Dr No.

  • Whistled language of the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands), the Silbo Gomero

Whistled language of the island of La Gomera (Canary Islands), the Silbo Gomero

UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – 2009

    URL:
Description: The whistled language of La Gomera Island in the Canaries, the Silbo Gomero, replicates the islanders habitual language (Castilian Spanish) with whistling. Handed down over centuries from master to pupil, it is the only whistled language in the world that is fully developed and practised by a large community (more than 22,000 inhabitants). The whistled language replaces each vowel or consonant with a whistling sound: two distinct whistles replace the five Spanish vowels, and there are four whistles for consonants. The whistles can be distinguished according to pitch and whether they are interrupted or continuous. With practice, whistlers can convey any message. Some local variations even point to their origin. Taught in schools since 1999, the Silbo Gomero is understood by almost all islanders and practised by the vast majority, particularly the elderly and the young. It is also used during festivities and ceremonies, including religious occasions. To prevent it from disappearing like the other whistled languages of the Canary Islands, it is important to do more for its transmission and promote the Silbo Gomero as intangible cultural heritage cherished by the inhabitants of La Gomera and the Canary Islands as a whole.

It was a gig designed to pacify French fans who thought she had made an ill-advised statement about their nation’s politics.

But Madonna ended up booed off stage in Paris on Thursday night after charging up to £200 a head for a concert lasting just 45 minutes.

The pop queen was also attacked for only singing for around 30 minutes – and spending 15 minutes ‘wittering on about politics’.

The singer had put on an intimate show for around 2,000 fans at Paris’s Olympia theatre as a last minute addition to her MDNA tour.

It came after France’s far-right National Front threatened to sue Madonna after she showed a video at a Bastille Day concert in Paris with an image of the party’s leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika on her forehead.

During the gig, the singer had a message for the politician, telling the audience: ‘I know that I have made a certain Marine Le Pen very angry with me.

‘The enemy is not out there, there is no such thing as an external enemy. The enemy is within.

‘It’s not my intention to make enemies, it’s my intention to promote tolerance.’

She also told fans: ‘I have a special affinity with France, and I have for many years.

‘It could go all the way to Napoleon because I think of myself as a revolutionary.’

As she left the stage, the curtains closed behind her with a message reading ‘I love you’.

But when she did not reappear for an encore, audience members began jeering, booing and pelting the stage with bottles.

Many shouted out demanding a refund.

Concert-goer Guillaume Delaval said afterwards: ‘The show was ok but it only last 45 minutes, and she spent 15 minutes of that wittering on about politics and tolerance.

‘We didn’t come to hear that. It was a concert, not the United Nations.’

But one Twitter user wrote: ‘Madonna’s performance of Je T’Aime moi non plus is one of the best performances I’ve seen.

‘She has to do it on the MTV awards or the grammys’.

The show was also streamed live on YouTube.

But today the website had to disable comments.

An invitation to Tweet about the show also appeared to backfire – with audience members using the suggested hashtag #MDNAParis to complain.

And Madonna brought her overt brand of sexuality to the show as she twisted around in fishnets and a black leotard.

The singer tied up her fellow performer, ending the song by pretending to shoot him in the head.

The same highly stylised sequence led to criticism when Madonna performed in the Scottish city of Edinburgh the day after the Colorado shootings.

‘Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse. She should know better,’ a spokesman for Mothers Against Guns told Scotland’s Daily Record.

But Madonna is not one to listen to her critics.

‘Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art,’ a member of her tour team told the Huffington Post.

‘Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now.’

Her latest tour is predicted to become one of the highest grossing in history.

  • The True Story About Nancy Ajram’s Istanbul Concert

The True Story About Nancy Ajram’s Istanbul Concert

    by WALEG

Even we are big fans of Nancy Ajram, we want to write the true story about her Istanbul concert because she didn’t show respect for Turkish fans.

Arab newpapers wrote many lies. First of all, Nancy didn’t sing over two hours, Istanbul concert last just one hour. Second, the ceremony wasn’t attended by tens of thousands of Turks, concert was half-empty, don’t be fooled with the photos that Nancy’s private photographer took and shared with the media. Third, Nancy has spoken in Arabic, she forgot that Turkish fans don’t understand, at least she could have spoken in English.

Also, Nancy didn’t sang 4-5 songs from last album as they wrote, she sang just two songs from album N7.

We also don’t understand why Nancy said in an interview with a Turkish media that the concert tickets were sold out … that’s not true!

Next time Nancy, if you are real artist, sing for fans not for money.
