    Rebuttal to ZAMAN article by Cengiz Aktar:

    “DEEP DINKISTS” ARE DISTORTING HISTORY

    TO MAKE GENOCIDE CHARGES STICK

    Jewish holocaust is a court-proven fact; Armenian Genocide, a discredited political

    claim. Holocaust is supported by a competent tribunal, Nuremberg; where is the

    Armenians’ Nuremberg?

    To call 1915 a genocide would be to equate much-discredited Armenian narrative

    to factual Jewish experience. It would be an insult to the silent memory of six

    million Jews who were killed just for being Jews. Whereas Armenians resorted to

    terrorism (1862-1922, Nalbandian) revolts (1877-1920, McCarthy) and treason

    (1914-1922, Pope) and caused 515,000 Turks and other Muslims to meet their

    tragic ends at the hands of Armenian revolutionaries. Jews did not commit any of

    those heinous acts in 1930s or 1940s. So how can any fair person treat the two

    events similarly? The UN, the US, the UK, Australia, Israel, Sweden and many

    other countries reject the use of the term genocide to describe the Turkish-

    The landmark decision of the highest court in Europe, the European Court of

    Human Rights (ECHR) dated Dec 17, 2013 on Perincek vs Switzerland also

    supports this position. Convicting Switzerland for violating Turks’ rights to free

    speech and expression, ECHR verdict was based on solid facts and reasoning.

    ECHR correctly stated that “[t]he existence of a ‘genocide’, which was a precisely

    defined legal concept, was not easy to prove… (ECHR) doubted that there could

    be a general consensus… given that historical research was, by definition, open to

    discussion and a matter of debate, without necessarily giving rise to final

    conclusions or to the assertion of objective and absolute truths”.

    Thus, the ECHR created a legal precedent of inadmissibility of any comparison

    between the court-proven Jewish Holocaust and the discredited Armenian political

    claims, as the latter lacks what the former clearly has: concrete historical facts,

    clear legal basis, and existence of the “acts had been found by an international

    court to be clearly established”.

    If one needs further proof of the fallacy of the Armenian Genocide, one can simply

    look at this photo at http://www.ethocide.com/ which refutes the entire Armenian

    narrative. Do these people in the photo look like “poor, starving, unarmed, helpless

    Armenians? Taken in 1906—nine years before 1915–it depicts cadets in full

    uniform at an Armenian Military Academy in Bulgaria, arrogantly brandishing

    their Russian-made MOSIN rifles. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation used

    these weapons since 1893 in Eastern Anatolia and the Caucasus, and the Balkans,

    1914 “…Armenian nationalist movement had blossomed since the turn of the

    (20th) century, armed and encouraged by the Russian, and several minor coups

    were repressed by the YOUNG TURK government before 1914. Denied the right to

    a national congress in October 1914, moderate Armenian politicians fled to

    BULGARIA, but extreme nationalists crossed the border to form a rebel division

    with Russian equipment. It invaded in December an slaughtered an estimated

    120,000 non-Armenians while the TURKISH ARMY was preoccupied with

    mobilization and the CAUCASIAN FRONT OFFENSIVE TOWARD

    travelling along the river. He also had nothing to tell when we later met in

    socialist French government evacuated and transported in the Southwest of

    2005 “…From 1911 to 1923, the Ottoman Empire and the people of Turkey

    participated in five long, hard, and destructive wars. These were the Tripolitanian

    War / Trablusgarb Harbi / Türk Italyan Harbı (1911-1912), the two Balkan Wars

    (1912-1913), World War I (1914-1918), and the Turkish War of National

    Liberation (1918-1923). To most Turkish people who lived through that era, these

    wars were really only one, the Seferberlik, or period of mobilization, which went

    on continuously throughout these years.

    During these wars, the entire infrastructure of life in the Ottoman Empire

    was destroyed. Fields were left barren and uncultivated; roads and railroad lines

    were destroyed and their equipment wrecked; harbors and quays were blown up by

    repeated bombing, and many of the people living nearby were killed; Istanbul and

    the other great cities of the empire were partially destroyed by bombing,

    bombarding and great fires. The entire nation, thus, was for all practical purposes

    destroyed. One of the greatest miracles of Atatürk’s leadership during and after

    the Turkish War of National Liberation was the manner in which he was able to

    raise the Turkish people from this wreckage and lead them to revive and

    reconstruct what became the Turkish Republic.

    In the midst of all this destruction, no fewer than 30 percent, one third, of all

    the people who lived in the Ottoman Empire at the start of the war died. In the war

    zones, Macedonia and Thrace, western Anatolia, northeastern Turkey and

    southeastern Turkey, that percentage was as high as sixty or even seventy percent,

    much higher than any other country that was involved in these wars. No-one was

    counting, so it is very difficult to give actual figures, but perhaps no fewer than

    four million people died in the lands of the Ottoman Empire during these wars, and

    these were people of all races and religions, all ethnic origins, they were Muslims,

    Jews and Christians, they were Turks and Armenians, Arabs and Greeks, and

  • A LEGENDARY HERO, A FATHER, A LEADER, THE FOUNDER OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS: H.E. RAUF RAIF DENKTAS

    A LEGENDARY HERO, A FATHER, A LEADER, THE FOUNDER OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS: H.E. RAUF RAIF DENKTAS

    It was April 15, 2005 when I had the honor to interview His Excellency Rauf Raif Denktas, a week before the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Here is how our conversation started:
    “All I can say is I wish the best of luck to all the candidates and hope the best wins, and whatever the result of the elections naturally, he will be our president and we shall try to help him with our background knowledge if he wants it, we will support him if he is supporting the independence and sovereignty of the Turkish Republic of Cyprus, we will try and prevent mistakes which we regard will destroy our Republic and its independence so I hope that it will be a fair change for the good of the country.. I repeat I shall be available whenever wanted and if they want to share my experiences.
    What is my experience during all these years? I was 7 years old when the Greek Cypriots burned the government house for ENOSIS, I was 21 years old after the 2nd World War when Greek Cypriots who had been banished from Cyprus for taking part in that rebellion turned back with higher voices for union with Greece, ENOSIS. Ever since we have been struggling to prevent it in order to prevent domination by Greek Cypriots, and in order to prevent Cyprus becoming a Greek island which will close Turkey to the Mediterranean. If that happens this will be 13th island around the Turkish coast so Turkey has a very important strategic cause in Cyprus; luckily for us because that is why we have been saved by Turkey in 1974. So if anyone thinks Turkey will abandon the Island of Cyprus, and will abandon us, then they are very mistaken. We want a settlement; settlement has not been achieved because the world has settled the Greek Cypriot problem for them by treating them wrongly as the legitimate government of Cyprus.”
    I had many talks, conversations, interviews with his Excellency but this was one of the most memorable ones, as for the first time in its history the country was not going to see Denktas as one of the presidential candidates. How humble he was, as always, in his responses.

    Born in Pathos o January 27th, 1924, he lived a life fully devoted to the welfare of his country and even in his dying bed yelled out saying to the Greeks, “Don’t you ever dare forget: the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a sovereign independent state!” and then his soul departed. This was January 13, 2012.

    In remembrance of Denktas, the legendary man of the Turkish Cypriot people, the idol, the patriot, the leader, the President, the commander…. Words really do fall short of describing his attributes, yet I will have to just say he was not only our President but he was just like a Fatherly figure to all, especially to me.

    Never has there been a day I have not thought about you His Excellency, and to share your success stories, to pass on all I know about you to the people around and especially to those living in AMERICA so far away from the TRNC, is and shall forever be my first and foremost duty.

  • First-Ever Armenian Float in Rose Parade Showcases Heritage to Billion Viewers

    First-Ever Armenian Float in Rose Parade Showcases Heritage to Billion Viewers

    sassounian3

    Over a year ago, a handful of young Armenians formed the American Armenian Rose Float Association and embarked on an ambitious project that many Armenians had contemplated for a long time, but no one had tried. They decided to enter the first Armenian float in 126 years in the world famous Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.

    Around one billion people in over 100 countries watch this spectacular Parade on television on the first day of each year. In addition, an estimated crowd of 700,000 spectators line up along the 5.5-mile Parade route, braving the record-breaking cold temperatures, as my family did on January 1. Some even sleep on sidewalks overnight to have a front row view!

    Soon-after the start of the Parade, viewers in Pasadena and around the world heard the unmistakable sound of blaring Duduks and witnessed a beautifully decorated Armenian float with thousands of flowers, accompanied by a dozen elegant dancers in traditional costumes. The overall theme of this year’s Rose Parade was “Inspiring Stories,” and the Armenian float was certainly inspiring with its fitting title, “Cradle of Civilization.” The official catalog of the Parade published the following glowing description along with a picture of the float:

    “Welcome to the ‘Cradle of Civilization,’ a float presented by the Armenian community to share their centuries-old rich cultural heritage with the United States and the world. The American Armenian Rose Parade float is a showcase of the contributions Armenians have made to this great nation and around the globe. Every item on this float, from the carpet, the tree of life and the birds and fruits, to the eternity sign and the Duduk (flute), symbolizes a specific aspect of the Armenian culture, including religion, education, industry, music, dance and beyond. The prevailing color is a specific red that is extracted from a worm found only on the mountains of Armenia.” More specifically, the float featured storks, peacocks, pomegranates, apricots, grapes, the Armenian alphabet, figure of an Armenian woman with traditional headdress and costume symbolizing “Mother Armenia,” and a partial church frame representing Armenian architecture. The float was awarded the prestigious “President’s Trophy.”

    Riding on the 55 ft. long, 28 ft. high, and 18 ft. wide float were several celebrities, including Samuel Der Yeghiayan (first immigrant Armenian US Federal Judge), Gabriel Injejikian (founder of first Armenian day school in the U.S.), Flora Dunaians (noted humanitarian and philanthropist from Pasadena), prominent attorney Mark Geragos, television host Jill Simonian, former Pasadena Police Chief Bernard Melekian, and actress Angela Sarafyan. Amazingly, exactly 100 years ago, an Armenian businessman, Movses Pashgian, was the Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade in 1915!

    Even though the float cost $300,000 to build, it was well worth the money, as Armenian culture, for the first time in history, was showcased to over one billion people around the world, at the bargain price of less than a penny per person! Just days before the Parade, the Armenian float organizers were still $110,000 short of their goal. Fortunately, they received a few more donations in recent days, leaving a current balance of $90,000. Those wishing to help cover this deficit can make a tax-deductible contribution by visiting www.aarfa.org.

    Given the extensive TV coverage on American and international channels, the Armenian float received numerous positive comments in the social media and websites around the world. Some TV networks even commented that 2015 coincided with the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

    Since Armenians regularly bring up the genocide issue in their interaction with ‘odar’ circles, most non-Armenians know that Armenian are a victimized nation, but are unaware of their rich cultural heritage and ancient civilization. The world should know that despite the Young Turks’ sinister efforts to eliminate the Armenian people, they have succeeded not only to survive, but to thrive!

    This is particularly important for young Armenians who need to grow up with positive role models to look up to and take pride in their heritage rather than feeling like downtrodden victims who seek pity. The Rose Parade float did a magnificent job in celebrating Armenian culture and promoting its image worldwide.

    Energized by the tremendous popular reaction to their participation in this year’s Tournament of Roses, the organizers pledged to have an Armenian float in the Pasadena Parade every year from now on!

    Enough! No more Turkish experts. No more lying politicians. No more cheating and stealing. No more talk of the obscene palace wherein resides the source of all of it. No more rancid, pompous rhetoric from the president of this stinking country. No more television discussion panels. No more Turkish language for it has died from murderous abuse. Shame covers Turkey like gas from a swamp. Breathe! Breathe! Breathe, you Turks!

    You, the Turkish people, have so diligently supported your terrorist government. What didn’t you understand? What clouded your minds? Islam? Please be serious. What clouded your minds was money. Bribes. Jobs. Big construction contracts. Unnecessary bridges. Irrelevant airports. Polluting power plants. Coal in bags. You were cheated there, too. Coal and stones. Can you tell coal from stone? Shit from shoe polish? The government couldn’t even give you a “pure” bribe. Such is its cheating, thieving nature. Thefts. Nothing could prevent you from supporting a criminal for prime minister who grew to become a criminal as president. And nothing could prevent you from supporting the treasonous opposition parties who collaborate with the terrorist government and foreign powers intent on your destruction. Bow down, Turks! Stoop and bathe in the blood of innocents! Let it run up to the elbows! Stoop! Stoop! Bow to your boss!

    It was all in front of your noses, this stink. This rotten game played with Syria. This disgusting, double-faced game known as being-a-friend-of-Erdogan. And so the weapons and bestial volunteers flowed through Turkey. And so rose ISIS! And Hatay was destroyed. Erdogan, the big shot friend of America. Erdogan, the expert on the Middle East. Erdogan, a man whose venality defies description, indeed a scowling metaphor of venality. And the corruption continued to flow. Arms to terrorists under the cover name of Free Syrian Army. Moderate Islamic “folks” trying to overthrow a duly constituted, sovereign nation—Syria! He is the source of the evil, of the beheadings, the slaughters, the rapes, the genocide of the Syrian Diaspora. And all the thefts from the moderate Islamic killers flowed back into Turkey. How eager were these Turks to buy cheap gasoline, stolen whisky, stolen cars. Isn’t god great? What a bargain! Cheap gas for the lives of innocent Syrians. Good job!  Eat! Eat! Eat, you Turks!

    The blood of the innocents in Paris is on the Turkish government’s hands. Erdogan, this most unnatural creature, has already destroyed his own country. And 53% of the Turks think that this is a good idea, if they are thinking at all. This Erdogan was America’s main man. A hard guy who could make it all happen. America loves guys like this. They make movies about them. But this hard guy had another agenda, and it wasn’t moderate. His ego was as big as all outdoors. Look at his house. Can you understand, you 53% of the Turks who are the equivalent of war criminals?  You aiders and abettors of terrorism and murder! And you of the remainder, the 47% who think your ideas are the only important ideas and delay and discuss while the fascists prepare the end of Turkey as a nation. Talk! Talk! Talk! And then the back of your skull suddenly splinters like all the others.

    The weapons in Paris arose in Syria through Turkish hospitality. The road to hell leads through Turkey. And so does the road to Paris. And so do these others, these big shots who think they know something. These are the ones who have helped Erdogan’s Turkey become a terrorist state. Their guilt is vast. And is no mystery to normal, ordinary people. And a complaint was filed with the International Criminal Court on 6 October 2014.

    I have the honor to file with you and the International Criminal Court (ICC) this Criminal Complaint against

    U.S. citizens Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, John Forbes Kerry,John Owen Brennan, Michael Joseph Morell, David Howell Petraeus, and Leon Edward Panetta;

    Turkish citizens Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ahmet Davutoğlu and Hakan Fidan;

    Qatari citizens Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa and Al Thani Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani;

    Croatian citizens Ivo Josipović and Zoran Milanović;

    Great Britain citizen David William Donald Cameron;

    Romanian citizens Traian Băsescu and Victor-Viorel Ponta;

    for their criminal policy planning, subsequent crimes against humanity and ongoing crime of aggression in Syria.

    I accuse the above listed individuals of planning, preparing, initiating and executing an act of criminal aggression resulting in the commission of grievous crimes against humanity. These crimes are both “widespread” and “systematic” within the meaning of Rome Statute article 7(1). Therefore the Accused have committed the “Crime of Aggression” by supporting and arming brutal and bestial mercenaries in violation of Rome Statute articles 8(2)(a), 8(2)(b), 8(2)(d), 8(2)f) and 8(2)(g). Furthermore, the Accused have committed numerous “Crimes against Humanity” in flagrant, repeated and longstanding violation of Rome Statute articles 5(1)(b), 7(1)(a), 7(1)(b), 7(1)(d), 7(1)(e), 7(1)(f), 7(1)(g), 7(1)(h), 7(1)(i), and 7(1)(k). Finally, the Accused’s Rome Statute Crimes Against Humanity as specified above constitutes ongoing criminal activity that continues today.

    Read the details below. It won’t take long. These are the ones that should be arrested immediately.

    But first, Hollande! Then Erdogan!

  • Poor Richards Report Chapter 21

    Poor Richards Report Chapter 21

    POOR RICHARDS REPORT
    Chapter 21
    Family
    In the Old Testament of the Christian Bible the good and great kings had good mothers. By good, I mean of the same faith. Many of the kings married for political reasons and if they had a child naturally that child reflected the wishes of the mother.
    One of the main lessons from the Old Testament is that women are very important. While the male part of the family was running the country, in this case Israel, or Judea , the mother had the influence on the child. Also, many played a major role in the history of Israel.
    The moral here is success is not determined by how much money one makes, it is shown by how well your children do. It all boils down to family.
    One can have earned a billion dollars, but have rotten kids. Spoiled brats! The world is full of them.
    These days we have lost control of family values. Instead, we greedily seek wealth and today the world is swimming in dollars while watched are the wretched poor.
    The similarity of what happened 3000 to 2000 years ago is scary in the 21ist century. Please remember the Almighty is slow to anger. Maybe because years to us are just days to HIM.
    Back then, who had the wealth controlled the water and baths. Women had to bathe.
    Today bankers control the wealth. Most women need and want money. Not all but most do. Females seek security and men are supposed to provide it. Of course there are always exceptions to the rules.
    Today we are sacrificing our sons and daughters by not letting them pursue their chosen careers in most cases.
    Summary
    The new Congress will take office officially in January 2015 and we will be able to truly test the power of the US Constitution. The Congress will be representing one segment of the country, the President the other, and then we have the US Supreme Court to settle disputes and declare laws as valid or not. The is truly the checks and balances that framers of the US Constitution envisioned over 200 years ago. So feel free to voice your concerns about the honesty of our financial system. There should be financial freedom for honest endeavors, but we should also have strong “Umpires” that have the power to stop thievery in it’s tracks right at the very beginning, before lawyers can muck up the intent of the laws. Their mantra should be “for the common good of the individual” not the wealthy.
    All my ideas and proposals have been stated in previous chapters and articles, and I hope you pass them along to your representatives if you desire to.
    This applies to all nations, for our earthy financial health depends upon a common ground of trust and honesty.
    REMEMBER THIS: AS WE ENTER AN NEW AGE OF COMPUTER USAGE PLEASE REMEMBER THAT DEBIT CARDS ARE BETTER THAN CREDIT CARDS FOR ONE OBVIOUS REASON – “HACKERS” CAN ONLY HIT WHAT IS IN YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT.
    Please check with your bank official.
    My next project will be on the Armenian question which I considered the biggest con job in modern history. Turkey was not Turkey when it happened; just part of the Ottoman Empire.
    Mustafa Kemal became the First President of the Republic of Turkey. October 29, 1923 became Republic Day and has been celebrated as a National Holiday ever since.
    My final point has to do with the separation of Church and State.
    Turkey is rich in biblical history since much of the New Testament happened in modern day Turkey. Turkey was also involved in the breakup of the Holy Roman Empire. It also has a major Muslim population.
    When Turkey became a recognized nation in 1923, Ataturk emphasized the separation of Church and State by declaring “ anyone wearing a Fez tomorrow will be shot. The next day one could not find a Fez. Turkey became a modern and advanced nation versus your southern neighbors because of Ataturk’s reforms. He is surely one of the great world leaders of the 20th Century.
    We in the United States of American were also formed with the idea of separation of church and state. We all believe in one superior being and if we all followed our fundamental teachings of love, honor and respect for each other we would have a much more peaceful world.
    So I would like to close with the Christian Lord’s Prayer for I believe every sentence has meaning for of all of us earthly human beings.
    “ OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN HALLOWED BE THEY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME,THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN!

    Here is a surprising news item being disclosed for the first time in this column — Amal Ramzi Alamuddin, wife of prominent actor and human rights activist George Clooney, will be one of the attorneys representing Armenia next month at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

    Some readers may wonder how a woman described by Elle magazine as having “stunning looks, flirty dresses, tailored pants, colorful heels, and gorgeous hair” is involved in such a complex legal matter?

    It may be astonishing to most people that Amal Alamuddin, now Mrs. Clooney, is much more than a pretty face! In fact, she is perfectly qualified for this critical assignment.

    Mrs. Clooney is a highly regarded attorney specializing in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition. She has been involved in several major lawsuits such as return of the Elgin Marbles from Great Britain to Greece, and defending Julian Assange of WikiLeaks and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. She has also worked with the Prosecutor of the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon, and the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia.

    Amal was born in Lebanon to a Druze father and Sunni Muslim mother in 1978. At the age of two, her family moved to the United Kingdom. She received her law degree from New York University School of Law and clerked at the International Court of Justice (World Court). After returning to London in 2010, she became a barrister at the Doughty Street Chambers. She served as advisor to Kofi Annan, UN Special Envoy on Syria, and as Counsel to the 2013 UN Drone Inquiry team. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic. Her marriage to George Clooney in September 2014 made worldwide headlines.

    With such impeccable credentials, Mrs. Clooney will be a great asset to Armenia’s legal team in Strasbourg, in the appeal of Perincek vs. Switzerland before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights on January 28.

    The case involves the conviction by Swiss courts of Dogu Perincek, a minor Turkish political party leader, who had travelled to Switzerland in 2005 with the explicit intent of denying the truth of the Armenian Genocide. In 2008, Perincek appealed the Swiss ruling to the European Court of Human Rights. A majority of five out of seven ECHR judges ruled on Dec. 17, 2013 that Switzerland had violated Perincek’s right to free expression.

    This ruling was an unfair and unacceptable double standard, as the court considered denial of the Jewish Holocaust a crime, but prohibition of the Armenian Genocide denial an infringement on free speech. The five judges who ruled against Switzerland made countless judgmental and factual errors, misrepresenting Perincek’s allegations, misinterpreting Switzerland’s laws and court rulings, lacking basic knowledge of the Armenian Genocide, and repeatedly contradicting themselves. Two of the seven judges disagreed with the majority’s ruling and submitted a comprehensive 19-page report on the Armenian Genocide, siding with the Swiss court.

    On March 17, 2014, Switzerland decided to appeal the ruling to ECHR’s 17-judge Grand Chamber, to defend the integrity of its laws and the country’s legal system. Specifically, the Swiss government challenged the court’s decision on three grounds:

    1) ECHR had never before dealt with the juridical qualification of genocide and the scope of freedom of expression;
    2) The undue restriction of “the margin of appreciation” available to Switzerland under ECHR’s jurisprudence;
    3) The establishment of ‘artificial distinctions’ — in the absence of an international verdict, ECHR should have considered the Turkish Court’s 1919 guilty verdicts against the masterminds of the Armenian Genocide as evidence related to World Court’s jurisprudence.

    Last year, when ECHR’s lower court was considering Perincek’s case, Armenia did not participate. Turkey, however, intervened by submitting extensive documentation questioning the veracity of the Armenian Genocide. This time around Armenia will take part with a strong legal team, which includes Geoffrey Robertson QC, a preeminent international lawyer and author of the remarkable book, “An Inconvenient Genocide: Who Now Remembers the Armenians?” Robertson will be joined in court by his associate Amal Clooney, and two Armenian government representatives Gevorg Kostanyan and Emil Babayan.

    It is imperative that on the eve of the Armenian Genocide’s Centennial in 2015, ECHR’s Grand Chamber reverse the lower court’s flawed ruling, restoring the integrity of Swiss laws and preventing Turkey and Perincek from exporting their genocide denialism to Europe and beyond!
