July 20Th: Protest Turkish Embassy: Turkish murderers, rapists, thieves, invaders, occupiers OUT OF CYPRUS

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris , New York . Tel. (917) 699-9935
WHERE: Turkish Embassy 2525 Massachusetts Ave., NW , Washington , DC

WHEN:  July 20, 2010, Tuesday, 9AM-5PM
“Turkish Delight – but not for the Oppressed” by Victor Sharpe, The Jerusalem Connection Report US.  Published on June 20, 2010–  “In 1974, a flotilla set sail from Turkey . No, it wasn’t destined for the Gaza coast carrying thugs and jihadists masquerading as human rights activists – as ill armed Israeli commandos discovered to their cost. No, this was a flotilla of naval ships sailing towards Cyprus as a fully-fledged invasion force, illegally employing U.S. arms and equipment. Later, after Greek Cypriot resistance had been crushed in the north of the island, Turkish forces began to ethnically cleanse almost half of the island from its Greek population, The Turkish military employed hundreds of U.S. tanks and airplanes and 35,000 ground troops, with the result being a land grab by Turkey of 37.3% of Cyprus. Turkey later sent additional flotillas to the island; ships containing 150,000 Turkish settlers who proceeded to colonize the land after some 200,000 Greeks had been driven out and made into refugees.”
The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) will be demonstrating directly in front of the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC , to demand justice for the criminal Turkish invasion of Cyprus that began on July 20th 1974.

For 36 years Greek-Cypriots suffer an ongoing HOLOCAUST of our culture, heritage and people. Turkey’s crimes include the rape of 800 Greek-Cypriot women, the murder of thousands of Greek-Cypriots, the theft of half of the Greek-Cypriot peoples homeland, the forcible displacement of hundreds of thousands, and the ongoing illegal occupation of a culture, a sovereign territory a homeland.

Over 100 United Nations resolutions have declared the ongoing Turkish-military-occupation of Cyprus illegal, and call for the speedy withdrawal of all Turkish troops from Cyprus . Turkey continues to mock international law and human rights and continues to exploit the theft of our land by spending millions to illegally convert it into luxury hotels and casinos. Turkey has brought over 150,000 illegal Turkish settlers into our stolen homes to commit cultural genocide by forcibly changing the demographic of Cyprus .

Turkey’s illegal occupation regime is an offshore base for the Turkish deep state, and uses Turkish-occupied-Cyprus to export illicit narcotics and international terrorism.

We call upon all Greek-Cypriots and people of conscience who care for justice to join us, to bring their own noisemakers and flags, and to not give the criminal a moment’s rest on July 20th the 36th Anniversary of our trail of blood and tears. Look the Turkish murders, rapists, thieves, invaders, occupiers right in the eye, and join us chanting loud and proud TURKEY OUT OF CYPRUS .

In 2008 the CANA July 20 Turkish Embassy protest managed to get coverage by CBS. Our protest sends the strong message around the world that, no matter how hard the Turkish murderers, rapists, thieves, invaders, occupiers  and their allies try to sell us their Turkish racist bizonal, bicommunal plans: WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE, WE WILL NEVER FORGET the perpetrators of the HOLOCAUST of the Greek-Cypriot people.”

    SIR,

What the Greeks are doing, is really adding insult to injury!
They have the mass media at their disposal, and with it they
spread their disgusting lies all around the world.

The Turkish Cypriot version of events in and around Cyprus
during the period 1963 – 1974, are much different!
The Greek side selectively chooses not to remember that
dark, 11 years period, where as the Turkish Cypriot side
cannot forget (Babies in bath tab, mass graves a la Sebrenica,
Turkish Cypriots hanging from trees, Turkish Cypriot women
kidnapped and systematically raped, mosques demolished and
    turned into car parks,…).

What happened before 1974, and why did Turkey intervene,
    and what happened after 1974?

1955: The EOKA terrorist organisation under the leadership
of General Diganis Grivas and Archbishop Makarios started the
    ENOSIS (Union with Greece) campagne.

1960: Following 5 years of bloody terror against the British and
the Turkish Cypriots who resisted the Enosis campagne, a partnership
state “Republic of Cyprus” with 70:30 participation was declared.
This meant a Greek President and a Turkish Vice Presidet, joint
government, police and defence forces. However, soon after,
Makarios started making speeches to the effect that this state
of affairs was not the aim of their so-called struggle for ENOSIS,
and kept pushing for an Amendment of the constitution. The
aim being to reduce the rights given to the Turkish Cypriots.
Naturally, Turkey as guarantor power to the independence of Cyprus
and the Turkish Cypriots refused to accept those demands.

1963: Makarios declared the constitution and the so-called
Republic of Cyprus as dead. He dismissed the Turkish Cypriots
from all state functions, such as police, military and parliament.
The ensuing intercommunal clash made it necessary for UN intervention
in March 1964. The first mistake and ijustice to the Turkish Cypriots
was made in the UN mandate reffering to the solely Greek regime
as the government of Cyprus. The Turkish side was consoled by
saying that it was necessary to get peace keepers quickly out there
to stop the killing of the Turkish Cypriots. Despite the UN peace keepers,
just like in Sebrenica, the killing of the Turkish Cypriots continued
and Greece put 15.000 troops on the island (clandestinely), again
under the command of General Grivas. Mass killings took place,
and the Turkish Cypriots were pushed into 3% of the island’s
territory. thousands of Turkish Cypriots were forced to leave Cyprus
for the UK, Australia and Canada. Makarios, having the support of the
non-aligned movement and the Soviet Union was no longer in a hurry
to achieve ENOSIS. This angered the Greek nationalists and with the
help of the Greek Military Junta, they toppeled Makarios who was saved
in the last minute by British-UN-troops. Makarios was quoted as saying in
the UN security Council that his country, Cyprus, was under the invasion
of Greece. Naturally, Turkey, one of the guarantors of Cypriot independence,
after consulting with the third guarantor, the UK , who no longer felt bound
by the 1960 agreements, had no option but to intervene.
    This meant war and suffering, of course, but the result of which was;
the Turkish Cypriots were saved from total annihilation, and the
democracy returned to both Cyprus and Greece. The ensuing period proved
to be a blessing for the greek Cypriot side who under the peaceful conditions
could develop its tourism and economy to the point that, today, Southern
Cyprus is one of the richest EU member. Yes, what an invasion that was –
a blessing from above, thank God and thank you Turkey.

    Hey Nick:

Your piece is so ludicrous that it’s right up there with the best propagandist of hate and obvious misinformation! You are by far, the most ignorant and ill-informed, biased, racist (I’ll bet you’re also a member of the KKK) and braiwashed buffoon out there! Your head is so far up your butt that if you sneeze, you give yourself a dry enema! A word of advice…You are obviously no journalist! So, don’t quit your day job at the circus sideshows. Stop following the textbooks written by your dashnak Armenian buddies.

” Naturally, Turkey, one of the guarantors of Cypriot independence, after consulting with the third guarantor, the UK , who no longer felt bound by the 1960 agreements, had no option but to intervene.”
So, Turkey guaranteed the Cypriot independence, by splitting the island in two and by creating a muppet-pseudostate in northern Cyprus.
The invasion would be justified only if:
    1. Turkey needed to defend itself in case of an invasion by another country.
    2. The UN asked for a military intervention by Turkey.
    3. The Cypriot Republic asked for Turkish military intervention and the UN security council approved of that request.

“and the democracy returned to both Cyprus and Greece”
The democracy was restored in Greece on july 24 1974 and one day earlier in Cyprus. At that time, Turkey occupied only the area around Kyrenia. What was the reason for the second phase of invasion in mid-August? Restoring democracy in Spain?

“The ensuing period proved to be a blessing for the greek Cypriot side who under the peaceful conditions could develop its tourism and economy to the point that, today, Southern Cyprus is one of the richest EU member. ”
First of all Cyprus (the whole island) is an EU member. If the Turkish army left northern part of the republic, all Cypriots would be much richer than now.

“Yes, what an invasion that was a blessing from above, thank God and thank you Turkey.”
If God approves of murders and rapes, it was indeed a “blessing from above”. Thank you Turkey for “protecting” Turkish Cypriots by killing, raping and expatriating their Greek neighbours!

Rum, or should I say Nicholas Taneris, Mister President of the CANA, we all know who you are, you cannot hide under anonymous screename. I have seen your clips where you were screaming like the racist bigot you are on the ATAA website. I also read on a website where you were reffering to 150.000 Turkish Descended citizens of Cyprus (both Native Cypriots and Mainland Turks) as “Stone Aged Islamists” and how you refer to Turkish Cypriots (both Native and Mainland Turks) by saying “Turkish Rapists, Murderers, Theives, Criminals, etc.” out of Cyprus! And you guys say Greek Cypriots are victims? Ok, yes some Greek Cypriots were massacred, but Turkish Cypriots would have been wiped out if Turkey didn’t pull of the ’74 peace operation. Funny whenever you attack realistic Cyprus peace/reunification objectives, you call it “racist” but some of your quotes you have used towards Turkish-spreaking Cypriots (both Native and Mainland) is vile. Even David Duke is not as racist as you are Mr. Nick, or should I say, Mr. Spokeshole of the CANA.
