Iranian citizen flies from Istanbul to Tehran in aircraft cargo bay

An Iranian citizen, whose name is undisclosed, flew from Istanbul to Tehran in the cargo bay of an aircraft of Turkish airline Atlasjet, the Hürriyet newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Beforehand he disguised himself in ground maintenance staff overalls and entered the cargo bay of the aircraft bound for the Iranian capital.

The Iranian citizen was found in the cargo bay when the plane landed at Tehran in an unconsciousness state. From the airport, he was taken to hospital and there it said there is no threat to his life.

An investigation is underway at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.
